đŠWhat is Sapientia?
â So what?
đ»Â What are we doing?
HighTechU is looking to support Sapientia by recruiting volunteers interested in designing inspiring talks (Tech Bytes) and/or hands-on workshops (Tech Labs) on the following topics:
- How technology can help improve education?
- How to start and manage a project?
- How to prototype and test an idea?
- How to budget a project?
- How to present a project?
đ Â Why bother?
- As the leader of a talk or workshop, you can develop connections with other students, professors, and industry professionals from abroad while sharing something you love.
- Leading a talk or workshop helps you gain communication skills and something to add to your resume or portfolio.
- Sapientia will give you the support you need to design and deliver engaging talks and/or workshops in your field of expertise/interest.
â°Â Whatâs the commitment?
- Tech Bytes should be no more than 20 minutes
- Tech Labs should be no more than 50-60 minutes
- They will be delivered at some point in September or October 2023 - weâll work with your schedule to plan when your talk/workshop will be!
- They will be virtual
- You may choose to work with a partner to deliver the talk or workshop
đ How do I get started?
- First, learn more about the UNâs Sustainable Development Goal #4: Quality Education, ****the theme of 2023.
- Next, choose 1 technology or technology-related skill (ex. UX Design) you love that could be leveraged to address that SDG
- Finally, choose whether you would like to deliver an inspiring talk (Tech Byte) or a hands-on workshop (Tech Lab) about your topic
- When youâre ready, itâs time to draft a quick proposal!
đĄÂ Proposals
đ General Criteria
All proposals should include no more than 2-3 sentences about the theme of your talk / workshop. Be concise! Strive to answer the following questions:
- Which aspect of Quality Education does this focus on (if applicable)?
- Which technology does this focus on?
- Why should students care about your topic?
- What is your background, experience with, or interest in this topic? (brief bio)
Your talk / workshop should strive to showcase your unique skillset, experiences and passion.
